Island
The
easternmost of the South Brunswick Islands, Oak Island - which

to over 8,000 persons year-round. Many times that number make
an annual pilgrimage to Oak Island and Caswell Beach to enjoy
their combined 14 miles of sandy white beaches.

on Oak Island. Oak Island's first residents were those who
helped with the construction of Fort Caswell in the year 1826.
Home to the famous Oak Island Lighthouse which was constructed
to protect passing ships from certain disaster in the waters

the Town of Caswell Beach occupies the easternmost four miles
of the island it shares with its neighboring Town of Oak Island.
And, as this municipal moniker suggests, this unique beach
town is a source of immense pride for its estimated 375 year-round
residents.
The beach strand at Caswell Beach is wide and inviting for
use by sunbathers in summer and by net fishermen and shell
collectors in the off-season. The town has made a solid commitment
to public beach access, developing a number of public access
points along the strand and a substantial parking area near
the town’s midpoint.

Southport
Where
once pirates roamed the riverfront between voyages, visitors
to the South Brunswick Islands now flock to buy treasure of
their own. Southport has become known far and wide for its
eclectic assortment of antique shops, art galleries, boutiques
and upscale restaurants.
Founded in colonial times, Southport, formerly Smithville,
features stately homes overlooking the mouth of the Cape Fear.
Restored homes and cottages from the 1700 and 1800's line
the city's streets and form basis for an intersecting walking

Boiling
Spring Lakes
With

of Boiling Spring Lakes also offers some of the greatest housing
